Hometown Roots
Gregg Frankhouser grew up in Western Pennsylvania, graduating from Beaver Falls High School and Duquesne University in Pittsburgh- where he also met his wife of 34 years, Paula.
Service & Early Career
After college, Gregg served in the United States Air Force and earned an honorable discharge. He then spent time in the information technology industry before making a major career shift.
FBI Career
Following the events of September 11, 2001, Gregg joined the FBI as a Special Agent. He completed training at Quantico and was assigned to the New York Field Office, where he specialized in cybercrime and became a certified digital forensic examiner. He later transferred to the Pittsburgh Field Office, spending 17 years investigating violent crimes and serving on the SWAT Team and Crisis Management Team.
The Spark Behind 2EC
Gregg’s work in crisis management revealed a major gap in emergency communication. A conversation with a school superintendent, who could message thousands but not reach key individuals, planted the seed for what would become 2EC.
Building 2EC
With input from law enforcement and school officials across Pennsylvania, Gregg co-developed the 2EC platform: a tool designed for secure, efficient communication and voluntary personnel tracking during both everyday operations and critical incidents.
